Once uppon a time… Suvarnabhumi Airport.
It’s almost… the first anniversary of its opening.
For that occasion, the airport director Serirat Prasutanond gave some nice statements (read here). Basically, he said that everything is okay and/or will be… I mean improved.
One promise struck me : “a permission for licensed taxis to offer service on the second floor of the passenger terminal, starting Oct. 1 to solve the problem of unauthorized taxis touting for passengers“.
Unfortunatly, the same mister Serirat said beginning of april : “Suvarnabhumi airport director Serirat Prasutanond said that taxi stands would move up from the frontal road on the first floor of the passenger terminal to the second floor after the Songkran festival ends on April 17.” (read here)
Technically, october 1 is indeed after Songkran.
The point is : since september 2006 and the opening of the airport, people have complained about this situation : why the arrival level is dedicated to… AOT limousines service and other private car companies… And why the public taxis are located one floor below ?
Well, the answer was and is still obvious… But anyway.
We shall make an appointement with mister Serirat on october the first…
And we will see.
UPDATE OCTOBER 1
They did it. Indeed. Congratulations. Now, of course, it can’t be perfect : it appears that the queues are longer now…
