Bozo of the day : Noppadon, the Foreign Minister, who was Thaksin’s lawyer and spokesman during the Junta.
Foreign Minister Noppadon Pattama ensured the business sector in the US that military will be under the constitution from now on, and another coup d’etat will not be staged.
Military coups were… authorized by previous constitutions ? Anyway, with the new one (august 2007) everything is different… Why ? Because. 
Noppadon should know it : the classic thai rethoric is working here, but not overseas…
I was similarly fascinated by Noppadons Walter Mitty world when he asked the US to intervene in Thai/Saudi relations. You remember the problem, it goes like this.
Some police kill Saudi diplomatic staff and steal a fortune in gemstones. The police investigate themselves and (to everyone’s surprise) cannot solve the crime. BUT! Wonder of wonders they recover the stones and return them, though they turn out to be fakes, and the police can’t manage to solve that crime either.
As a consequence, the Saudis think that Thais are too dishonest for them and stop them coming to Saudi to work (wow, how bad does it have to be before an Arab calls someone else dishonest?)
Now Thailand wants big brother to bully the Saudis into being our friends again.
Thais huh? Assume the little fellas have the intellectual and emotional development of a 9 year old farang and you won’t go far wrong…
