Since a few days, and because of the pending Sword of Damocles on the government’s head (read here, with the risk of dissolution for the PPP and other parties), many thai politicians are calling for an amendment of the Constitution (written by the Junta, and voted after a referendum last august).
The Prime Minister wants to change several articles. That’s the good point with Samak : he’s not afraid to speak his mind…
Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej said Tuesday that he will not dissolve the parliament right after the amending of the charter.
He also said he personally favours the amending of the whole constitution, but added that he will propose this idea at the People Power party’s meeting.
“Many articles should be altered, not just the Article 237″ he said.“I can confirm to you that the charter is written to weaken the government, and it does now,” he said. “I can prove to you that there were efforts to try to destroy this government, but they were not succeeded.” (Bangkok Post)
The political circus shall continue. Along with the uncertainty…
