Deputy Commerce Minister Banyin Tangpaporn is asking the Cabinet next week to amend the regulations on intellectual property (IP), which will give more power to officers in arresting violators.
He believed that the higher power would result in lower IP violation.
“This will show the international community of Thailand’s commitment in solving the problem. The Commerce Ministry will soon inform ambassadors of Thailand’s policies in suppressing violations,” he said. (Nation)
This is going too far ! The Commerce Minister is a clown.
IP violations are everywhere in Thailand, and absolutly not hidden. And he would like us to believe that the only problem is that the police has no… power ? It’s astonishing.
Enough to go to Fortune Town, Ratchada Road, on second floor with the dozen of shops of pirated software, and then on the third floor for the DVDs. And i’m not speaking about the small vendors on the streets (like Sukhumvit). Non. Real shops. With walls and staff
And what about MBK ? And Pantip Plazza ?
So time to cut the thai crap.
