Court gives green light to increase of bus fares (+ 21 %)

The Supreme Administrative Court ended the Administrative Court’s protection that froze fares on private buses as a result of rising oil price Wednesday.

Fares are due to hike Thursday.

Passengers on private non-airconditioned buses will pay 1.50 baht more; one baht extra on minibuses, airconditioned buses and songtaew (converted pickups); and three satang per kilometre extra on inter-provincial buses. (Bangkok Post)

At last ! Common sense prevails. This story started end of may (read here).

The inflation tsunami… can resume…

But… by the way… the private operators have gained a subsidy of 3 THB per liter of diesel... Will they keep it ? While increasing their prices ?
