Chart: Private Consumption, Investment, Manufacturing Production and Business Sentiment indexes

Here is an update of my chart with 4 indexes from the Bank Of Thailand.

-Private Investment Index
-Composite Private Consumption Index
-Manufacturing Production Index
-Business Sentiment Index

After the dip in april (due to Songkhran), Manufacturing is up again. But business sentiment index is declining.

Now to ease the reading on broader time scale, I’ve made a new chart, by setting up a new base year (january 2005 = 100), for all the indexes.

And I’ve added one component of the Business Sentiment Index that I find interesting : the “Expected Business sentiment” (= 3 months ahead).

As you see, it reached a very low point in may and june.

Thailand Crisis

Coup, Economic slowdown, Terror In the South... The situation is worsening in Thailand. Bumpy road like often before.

But this time, it's different.

The key to understand the present turmoil is the inevitable... succession of King Bhumibol.
