If the government give in to PAD, then they will veto everything until they run the coubtry themselves, and then well,total anarchy.Where is the silent majority?Where is Abishit? I guess hiding in the wings, as he is silent too.

Do you seriously believe it would be a lasting solution ?

In september 2006 after the Coup, many people were full of hope… We saw the result…

My point : a coup (direct ou indirect like what you say, with “courts” as proxy) won’t solve the political stalemate.

The thai society is deeply divided. All the factions are excited with the perspective of the royal succession.

I wrote it all along : the mess is going to last.

But I want to repeat that a military coup or an intervention of “juges” is strictly the same.

Thai people are so obsessed with appearances. Some of them believe that a “judicial coup” won’t look the same, won’t look like september 2006.

It’s pathetic.

Nobody will be fooled.

Well, very simple. As a leader, if you can’t reign in the situation, you must step down and have somebody else replacing you. It is the norm.

Yes, implication is HUGE after this. It is a deadlock since another election can no longer solve the crisis because it will be, as always, fraught with cheating, frauds, guns and bullets. A TOTAL DEADLOCK!

Indeed, GO… the situation is totally blocked.

It’s not new. It has been blocked since december 2004 (first rallyes against Thaksin) and the dissolution/elections of april 2005 (boycotted by Democrats).

We have had a Coup : no solution. We have had news elections : no solution.

So what do we do now ?

Why?! I am in no way a fan of his – far from it – but why should he resign? For not being liked by a radical mob? I don’t see anything more rotten in the last 6 months than the average Thai institutional corruption and incompetence!

If he does step down then the implications are HUGE: the PAD have an effective veto over every government and every policy. Why bother voting?

There is the only way to stop this widespread chaos temporarily – Samak out. He has lost control of the situation.
