Samak James Bond : “they plan to arrest me at the airport”

It’s sad to see the damages done by age…

Samak, the “Prime Minister”, is becoming dangerous for… himself.

I mean pick your “lunacy of the day”… (I should create a special category !) :

Samak the paper birds maker
-“Don’t mess with a man called Samak
-“eat less rice… so we can export more
be careful when showing thai flag
-“I never said that
-“I know nothing
-“Burma’s leaders are good buddhist” and “killings are normal”
Samak James Bond

And here is the last one.

Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej yesterday claimed someone had plotted to capture him the instant his plane made a landing at Bangkok airport today.

According to Mr Samak, someone possibly in the military planned to arrest him when he returned today from Brunei, which he is visiting on the return leg from his four-day visit to China.

He was speaking on the last day of his visit to China before travelling to Brunei.

A source close to the prime minister said Mr Samak received an intelligence report that a military officer hatched a plot to capture him at the airport and remove him from power, in a similar manner to the 1991 military coup which successfully overthrew then prime minister Gen Chatichai Choonhavan. (Bangkok Post).

Samak should obviously have some rest… 😉

UPDATE
Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej reportedly secured his return to Bangkok from Brunei yesterday by choosing his pilot himself. Mr Samak, however, told the media upon his arrival that there was no plot to arrest him at Suvarnabhumi airport and topple his government as he told them earlier.

The plot to arrest him was only a rumour that a reporter had brought to him and that he did not see any irregularity with Air Force staff, he said. (Bangkok Post)

Saying something and then the day after denying it… is a classic with a Samak. There is another word for this behaviour : “alzheimer”.

Isn’t it a real threat for Samak to be arrested. As far as I remeber, Samak was sentenced to two years in prison in 2007 for a defamation case. And his not yet behind bars only because he appeled. Does anybody know the current satus of this appelation? I mean, if the court rejects the appelation, Samak will go behind bars immediately.

Anyhow – where else in the world a man convicted by a court leads the country as a PM? Maybee Thaksin just has to wait until he is convicted as well to succeed Samak. The new job description for the Thai PM:

    – Must be willing to accept briberies
    – Must be convicted at least once
    – Must be able to speak before think
    – Alzheimer is an advantage
    – Any other brain damage welcome
    – No other capabilities required

Beloved people of Thailand. Don’t laugh. You elected such a guy.
When will the people of Thailand stand up and fight? Fight and not only talk!
