Chart, sales of cars : down 10 % in september

Here is an update of the chart about sales of cars.

The total commercial + passengers cars fell 10,2 % in september, compared to september 2007, at 48 061 units.

Eventhough we have an increase of 2 % compared to august, the market remains depressed, particularily for commercial cars. It shows that businesses are still cautious and unwilling to spend more.

    TC,
Do you have numbers for motorcycle sales in Thailand? That might give a good picture of the buying power in the general population.

    I do.

We are still waiting for september’s figures for motorcycles.

I will update the chart per quarter.

One thing to remember : sales went up on Q1 and Q2 thanks to higher farmers revenues and… high price of gasoline (people switching to small motorcycles).
