Details of the “stimulus” plan and confusion about the 2000 THB “special allowance”

Here are the details of the “stimulus plan” (Bangkok Post) presented by Abhisit yesterday.

And as usual, both the government and the journalists were unable to do their job properly, and communicate in an efficient way.

The special allowance of 2 000 THB for all employees earning less than 14 000 THB per month… is a one shot, and absolutly not a 6 months program, as it was reported.

details

Some tasty and delirious items can be found in this grotesque listing :

-15,2 billions for the “promotion of the Sufficiency Economy” (if you want to know what is the Sufficiency Economy, click here or there)
-1,8 billion for… “housing for junior police”
-and a delicious -although super cheap- 325 millions for “rehabilitating national image” πŸ˜‰

Surayud (prime minister under the Junta) was a sad clown. Samak was a dirty clown. Somchai was a ghost clown.

Abhisit is definitely a clown with a nice haircut.

I won’t even comment on the miraculous effects this penultimate “stimulus plan”, part of the Dildo Economy, will have on the thai economy… It’s pointless.

Amazing Thailand! The land of stupidity strikes again!

Obviously the government must be sitting on their dildos!

    Yes indeed.
We are not enough stimulated. πŸ˜‰

But at least, we are entitled to a good laugh.
In recession times, it’s a blessing.

    A couple of stimulus jokes:

    1) How can you tell a government official:

He’s the guy with the wide stance in the men’s room.

    2) On the economic effects of the separate soon to be announced Economic Stimulus Payment programme comprising new tax cuts:

    Q. What is an Economic Stimulus Payment?
    A. It is money that the government will give to taxpayers.

    Q. Where will the government get this money?
    A. From taxpayers.

    Q. So the government is giving me back my own money?
    A. Only a smidgen.

    Q. What is the purpose of this payment?
    A. The plan is that you will use the money to purchase a high-definition TV set, thus stimulating the economy.

    Q. But isn’t that stimulating the economy of China?
    A. Shut up.

    high-definition TV set ?
Hum… cheap mobile phone and cheap whisky more likely. But, as you said, the important is to feel stimulated enough.

Speaking about stimulation… the BOT just announced… an interest rate cut : from 2,75 to 2 %.

Damned, now I feel uber-stimulated. I think I’m going to buy another condo. πŸ˜‰

    Nice one Insanity.

Bedwyr didn’t get the joke about the government official in the men’s room though. is this a size joke or does it refer to Thais often pissing on their own shoes?

Aiming well must be difficult when you need a pair of tweezers to hold things steady.

From the look of three conditions to earn the “special allowance” package. It just does not strike the spot.
Take a look and see who qualify under those conditions. Do they include the factory worker? The day-to-day worker? Or even farmers?
So, I am afraid, without due care and enough foreplay. It wont even stir the economy mood, much less get it up to orgasm…

By the way, if the fund is to promote “Sufficient Economy”. Wouldn’t putting in more money means it was insufficient, in the first place?
“Free market-capitalistic idea are corrupting our economy! We need more money to correct it and make it sufficient!… You evil foreigner dont understand Thai economy!”

Where is the Nation “Democracy vs. Corruption” opinion piece now? Wanna guess who win?
