Recovery is so strong that “stimulus will stay up to 2 years”

Korn, the alleged Finances Minister, on january 17 :

Economic stability has rebounded in the last year, with employment figures now close to normal while domestic and external risks have fallen, says Finance Minister Korn Chatikavanij. (Bangkok Post)

The same Korn, still alleged Finances Minister, on february 12 :

Stimulus measures will remain in place over the next one to two years, Finance Minister Korn Chatikavanij said yesterday, adding that his ministry was assessing how long Thailand could support budget deficits as a result of fiscal injections. (Nation)

And I could even add :

The Thai economy may expand by as much as 4.7% this year as exports, tourism and private investment have shown clear signs of steady recovery over the past three or four months, says Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva. (Bangkok Post)

My bozo picture is well deserved, don’t you think ?

So, to summarize : the recovery is so strong, so vivid, so powerful that all the stimulus toys (are you stimulated enough ?) will probably stay up to 2 years.

It makes perfectly sense. đŸ˜‰

Anyway we shouldn’t blame Korn. I mean he’s not alone within the bozo family. Actually it’s a huge family. Virtually every politicians  around the world are serving us the same bullshit. Eventhough Korn’s smile is without any doubt more attractive than the smile of Sarkozy, Geithner, or Brown.

To speak about growth and recovery when the clouds on the horizon are so dark, so huge, is just an insult to common sense, a lie, and even a proof of acute neurological disorder.

The Green Shoots are just a mirage, a statistical illusion, a brain fart .

So, they have no choice : stimulus, bailouts, you name them, will continue. Here, there, EVERYWHERE, until the final debt implosion.

Cause and effect. Fantasy and reality principle.

Don’t be too hard on them they’re only Thai.

Thais in general will say the first thing that occurs to mind that will either:

    1) Make them seem knowledgeable or
    2) Be what someone wants to hear or
    3) Be what they want someone to believe

Thinking actually doesn’t really come into it, it is pure automatic response, they can’t help it. Everyone responds according to their education and culture until they learn differently.

Or until 2 neurons accidentally bump into each other.

This is exactly what finance minister Tarrin said when Chuan was Thai prime minister some time ago. Why the democrats have the same the tendency to boast economic achievements while the truth is opposite ? But when Chuan was ousted in 2001 elections, the democrats accused Thai Rak Thai of buying votes.

Fortunately for politicians most populations are economically illiterate, the fact that many economists also are would no doubt be a contributing factor as societies are geared to receive broadcasted information from supposed experts as fact and no longer actually question the validity. For most the penny drops when they lose their job, yet politicians will still bullshit them it is just temporary and they seem to accept that.

Two of the most successful economies in history were Hong Kong and the USA (prior the Fed in 1913), both had small non interfering governments and no central banks. As governments expand their bureaucracies and social security, and hike taxes to pay for them, then that is the beginning of the end. Although Thailand has a bloated corrupt bureaucracy taxes are at least still low. Also in the great depression seems that a high percentage of the population involved in agriculture buffeted the effects, the west no longer has this but Thailand does, it may ride out what is coming better than the west.
